HISTORY:
An old model but barely used since we bought it in 2010. Most of my studio equipment (audio post production) was audio based but occasionally I needed a DVD player and at the time I felt that perhaps being Blu Ray capable might be useful.
Over all the years since 2010 I used this machine perhaps 3 times, there just wasn't the need and I realised this when 'test playing' the Autechre CD/DVD advertised on here. It is time that I clear out more of my "excess" gear so this needs to find a new home.
Please read the description below - there is NOTHING wrong with this gear, but the technology is now probably dated but more importantly I have no practical everyday use for it any longer ... read on

Much of the information below in this description and features is taken from the manual. Very clean, in fact the original plastic used by the manufacturer is still in place around the front panel area - we never removed it
NO scratching at all
Certainly no dents or dings - this unit sat on an equipment rack shelf for all of its life here with me
TESTING:
As mentioned above, this equipment has seen extremely low use (3 times!) and most of the time just sat on the shelf unpowered
Today I needed to look at a standard DVD video music product and set it up once again, just using the analog audio and video outputs. I had no need of seeing the HDMI video so I have NOT checked that but have no reason to think it wouldn't work.
Using the remote control I opened the tray, inserted the DVD and closed the tray.
Reads the disc and sits on the media opening menu
Played the DVD, navigated the DVD menu and all worked fine - video/audio output was smooth and as I expected
Ejected the tray and removed the DVD - for me, that was all I needed to look at however as I had it setup already, I inserted a CD-DA (normal audio disc) and made sure that worked fine too - no video of course but I navigated the tracks, stop start and all the other things you might want to do with a plain old audio disc.
Nice little machine, bit sad to see it go but afterall it is just a Blu-Ray player and as I have no real use for it perhaps someone else can use it more fully.
