Ex DENON Professional CD Player
I am very much "into" sustainability, a complete retro CD player represents a LOT of embedded energy and to waste that embedded energy is a very bad thing, even worse is to bury it in landfill and subsequently poison our environment!
What is embedded energy?
Embedded energy is a measurement of the total energy that was used to create a component, a module or a complete piece of equipment originally.
So why has this DENON DN-650F become an "organ donor"?
The DN-650F is a pretty basic machine designed with the professional in mind and it was specifically targeted at the DJ market but could/can also be found in broadcast studios. Designed for rack mount with balanced analog outputs and a digital ouput - basic controls including Cue and a pitch control
Some years back the laser assembly failed, the machine was updated/replaced with some Tascam and Studer machines and it has just been sitting in a box waiting for me to look at it again. I no longer consider it worthwhile to replace the laser assembly as I have no use for this machine anyway, so the machine has now been parted out.
FYI, the laser used in these units is the KSS-240A
