Ex DENON Professional CD Player
I am very much "into" sustainability, a complete retro CD player represents a LOT of embedded energy and to waste that embedded energy is a very bad thing, even worse is to bury it in landfill and subsequently poison our environment!
What is embedded energy?
Embedded energy is a measurement of the total energy that was used to create a component, a module or a complete piece of equipment originally.
So why has this DENON DN-650F become an "organ donor"?
The DN-650F is a pretty basic machine designed with the professional in mind and it was specifically targeted at the DJ market but could/can also be found in broadcast studios. Designed for rack mount with balanced analog outputs and a digital ouput - basic controls including Cue and a pitch control
Some years back the laser assembly failed, the machine was updated/replaced with some Tascam and Studer machines and it has just been sitting in a box waiting for me to look at it again. I no longer consider it worthwhile to replace the laser assembly as I have no use for this machine anyway, so the machine has now been parted out.
FYI, the laser used in these units is the KSS-240A
DENON Single Disc CD Player SPARE PART
Model # DN-650F
PCB Part # GU-2751-2
Module is the complete front panel (right-hand side) with the backlit LCD display, all control buttons and the slider pot to the right (with knob) for the adjustment of pitch.
CONDITION:
Cosmetically all items are in very good condition, known to be fully functioning as I had the CD player powered up a couple of times prior to dismantling the machine (see the photograph of the unit powered up prior to dismantling although I also connected all the modules together and powered up when it had all been dismantled, working fine.
The large coloured buttons are silicon rubber, no splits and all are very clean
The switch element is PCB mounted and a sealed switch NOT those unreliable rubber contact switches.
LCD driver chip is a Sanyo but very difficult to read the type, possibly LC258 K2
LCD Display is clean and unscratched or cracked. I am also supplying the window for the display (black border with graphics) - it is currently just sitting on top of the display but easy to remove/reposition.
Slider pot knob is supplied
Ribbon cable which interconnects this module to the Mainboard is also included (undamaged)
These components (as pictured) have now been sealed within plastic and will be supplied this way.
