Vintage CD single disc player from Audio Technics, Japan.

I am offering the spare part ONLY - the photograph of a complete machine is to confirm what it looks like.

I have "parted out" the machine I had because of laser mechanism issues and an IC on the main board required replacing (impossible to find now) but perhaps someone has one of these vintage players that needs a bit of care and attention.

Audio Technica Single CD Player SPARE PART

Made in Japan

Mid 1980's vintage CD player

Single tray

Uses MLP-3C optical pickup (Yamaha, Carver etc)

Front panel PCB with display and user control buttons

Part #: XB103 NA09091 TK-KA56

The photograph of the display is the ACTUAL unit being offered.

This display/control PCB is single sided and has no on-board intelligence. Two IC's look after driving the 7 segment display and various status LED's - all indicators are red.

The IC's are type BA612 & BA618, the display is a bit special being a 23 pin device and sitting on top is a cover which is marked as 616D. It looks as though the cover could be unclipped but I haven't attempted to remove to reveal the display chip part number as I am worried about damaging the cover clips.

Being a LED display, no backlighting is needed.

The 4x transistors are a very old type, strange packaging too. Type 2SA937(Q) which were extensively used in the Nintendo Famicom machines - data can be difficult to locate on these so a data sheet is included in the photographs.

COSMETIC CONDITION:

Clean and ready to go - two plugs on leads fitted - even the 3x mounting screws are supplied

TESTING:

Tested prior to removal from the CD player, all segments display correctly and with even brightness. One of the photographs shows THIS display in action prior to dismantling.

NOTE: Flash was used on the camera and this tended to make the unactivated segments also "show up" but in reality the display is showing a nice clean clear red "OPEN"

All micro PCB push on - release off buttons are working correctly.
