As removed from a classic Marantz Cassette Deck Model: SD 1015R
This model was released to the market in the early 1980's and discontinued in 1982
These VU meters and associated components have been tested both prior to dismantling and afterwards - functioning fine
Offered as spare parts for the SD 1015R or possibly other Marantz or non-Marantz equipment

Set of two meters (Left/Right)

Centre bottom backlight is built-in (yellow)
Both lamps are functioning - measures 8.0V AC supply to the lamps, lamps when cold measure 8 - 9 Ohm each
Meter coil resistance 720 Ohm

Scale is from -20dB ~ 1dB (white) and 0dB ~ 5dB (red)
Small double D Dolby symbol below the red scale
No branding on the meters - completely blank
The scale background is NOT the commonly found white colour but a light champagne gold, this was the era of the gold champagne look in equipment from Marantz and many others of the time.
Both meter pointers sit nicely at rest on the far left of the scale with no signal
Checked operation when the cassette machine was operational - smooth pointer movement, no sticking.
METER DETAILS:
Front scale section is designed to fit into a front panel recess.
The meter measures 66mm OD wide x 53mm OD height x 34mm depth (to the end of the solder tags)
These meters were designed for a "push fit" into a panel cut-out and then usually secured in place with a fastening glue.
These are what I would describe as a "budget meter" - they look great, but the mounting system is not so good and it is VERY important to watch the amount of heat applied to the rear solder tags, they are sitting in plastic.
The lower section of the meter front (cloudy white) is actually "tacky" to help secure the meter in place.
The size of recess in the front panel is 60mm wide x 32mm height
The backlight is mounted in the centre, bottom and uses a incandescent lamp which is just glowing dimly - this means long life for the filament and a nice gentle yellow glow is cast over the scale. Reading the scale in dim/dark light conditions is easy. I have taken a couple of photographs both front and rear (not the greatest of quality sorry)
