Oh Dear! This item has been sold but take a look around for other similar items

Another Australian high quality designer and manufacturer of loudspeaker systems.

Great speakers for the 'unit dweller' with limited space or as part of a surround sound system (front or rear speakers)

I also have a nice pair of loudspeaker metal stands that we used with these loudspeakers, HERE or just use them free standing in your lounge, office or work area

But wait, there's more .... (no steak knives though)

I also have a brand new spare tweeter and driver unit, we liked to keep spares on hand JIC (Just In Case) but as it happened, these little bookshelves never gave us a problem and sometimes the client would REALLY push them hard! The tweeter spare part is HERE and the driver is HERE if interested

HISTORY:

We purchased these Audi-Tone's brand new way back in the 1990's to be evaluated for use in our client waiting areas. We needed good quality sound, after all we ran an audio post production facility! After 30 years I decided it's time to take a rest and we closed down the business a few years back and these were put away in storage for safe keeping.

I have installed them in my overcrowded home office (compact and the stands make life a lot easier) and have been listening to them for the past 2 months or so - I play a LOT of music as our library of music is also going to new homes and I listen to every single item, that is many many hours of listening!

COSMETIC CONDITION:

Very good condition

Grille cloths are both undamaged

Cabinets are in very good condition, joints are tight and the black ash veneer is secure at the joints with practically no markings - anywhere.

NOTE: On the rear and underneath the cabinets of both speakers are tiny little holes! Why? Because these were mounted on the speaker support stands I have advertised elsewhere and to do the job properly you need to use 4x wood screws to keep the loudspeaker securely on top of the stand. There are only four holes on the underside of each speaker and one speaker has a couple of tiny holes at the rear panel because we used a special wall mount for that speaker at one stage - the wall mount metal bracket has since been removed.

These holes are tiny and do NOT go right through the cabinet wall! When these speakers are sitting in your listening area, you wouldn't even know these holes exist.

All four loudspeakers are in perfect condition, no damage to the cones, baskets, magnets etc - I actually took a look inside!.

TESTING:

As outlined above, these were in casual use years ago in my business (client waiting areas and also just for evaluation at the time) Once the business was closed down (after 30 years) I put these carefully in storage until about 3 months ago.

Since that time I have been using these extensively to listen across a wide range of genres, sources being both CD and vinyl - pretty impressive sound for such a small box!

You cannot realistically expect a big low end response, these speakers are simply too small and if you want a great thumping bass line then you should get either larger speakers or use a separate dedicated sub-woofer system for the low end response.

But the mids ~ highs sounded great in my little office (not acoustically treated and a fair bit of sound reflections, which makes for a pretty nasty audio environment) but I was impressed none-the-less. Good bang for the buck and those speakers have pedigree, not your el-cheapo Chinese jobbies!

I have now put these safely in the spare room ready to ship (FREE anywhere around Australia) and back to listening to my "mature" VIFA system!
