TESTING:
Used originally to access the audio stream of an HDMI video signal source, once the job was done it was no longer required
I rechecked it just prior to uploading this advertisement - all is fine.
When initially powered up the Green Link LED will come on momentarily, this is normal
The Blue LED indicates power is on and should always be lit
Input HDMI source video/audio and I have analog audio at the RCA connectors. The Green Link LED only will come on if you are using this device in the 'through mode' i.e the HDMI output is used with a video monitor or similar display device. This is what they mean by 'Link', when the HDMI input and outputs are used at the same time. I also noticed this Link is not just a passive through connection, when you plug in a device at the output, the device takes a few seconds to know (talk to?) the connected device and only when all is ok does the Green LED come on.
While all of the above is about the video signal, those audio outputs (Optical and Analog Stereo) are ALWAYS active, you don't need to have a video device connected to the HDMI output.
