USED, this is a "pull" from my another of my beloved amplifier collection.
My Technics SU-V2 has now become an "organ donor" and this spare part is EXTREMELY difficult to find if ever you needed to find one. In fact some diehards will dig inside these just to make discrete repairs to their STK8040's or fit a custom made block inside.
This genuine Technics makes the job a whole lot easier, Carefully remove the old STK8040 and solder in this replacement block.
You might be wondering "why did he turn his amp into an organ donor?"
Its sad but after years of putting up with rather touchy speaker select switches, finally the failed completely (both of them!) so I could only use the headphone socket.
I am very big on sustainability, re-using or re-purposing equipment (no matter how old it is) because a LOT of EE (Embedded Energy) was used to create these items from our past and to throw something like this away, poison our landfill etc is just so irresponsible.
So I have saved the known working and useful parts ... here is the complete description

Power Amplifier Block type: STK8040
5Hz ~ 30kHz bandwidth
Large 16 pin plastic package (metal backplane for heat dissipation) with mounting holes on either side of the package
45W RMS into 8 Ohms (55W into 4 Ohm) assuming sufficient level from the drivers
Very low THD quoted at maximum 0.02% full power
COSMETIC CONDITION:
Clean casing
Clean, tinned wire leads
No leads have been damaged or cut short during removal from my SU-V2
TESTING:
OK, this power amplifier block is used so I have taken great care to ensure that all is well prior to removal from the SU-V2.
I measured all pin voltages, even setting up the Clamp level and ICQ following instructions in the service manual. All went beautifully and the measurements are either exactly the same or very near to those voltages to be expected at each pin.
Now the listening test.
Prior to dismantling, I have used this amplifier for years but I really pushed it "hard" over the last couple of days to ensure there were no undetected issues - these amplifiers are old and can fail at a moments notice!
I love the sound of this amplifier, at both low levels and when pushed to the limits of it's capabilities. At full power there are no signs of excessive heat from the power output modules.
I am 100% satisfied that if re-installed in a professional manner, this power amplifier block will continue to give years of great service (if treated with respect)
SPECIAL NOTE: ALWAYS, ALWAYS MAKE SURE THAT YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHY YOUR STK8040 HAS FAILED - IF FOR EXAMPLE YOU ARE SENDING THE OUTPUT INTO A DEAD SHORT OR YOUR SUPPLY RAILS HAVE GONE WAY TOO HIGH (normally the supply should be close to +41V & -41V) AND YOU FIT A REPLACEMENT STK8040, POOF! GUESS WHAT? YOU JUST DESTROYED YOUR REPLACEMENT BLOCK.
Packed in a sealed plastic bag to protect it from the environment and keep it in good condition, ready for reuse.
