HISTORY:
Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything (that has been tested and still functioning properly) should be repurposed creating saving in wasted Ee and reducing the poisoning our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.
Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.

This in-line plug from MONSTER CABLE is for very low level audio signals. The 5 female pin sockets are arranged across 270 degrees but do not look to be DIN standard, not sure about this. I have tried to find specifications for this plug online but nothing comes up at all - MONSTER CABLE are most well known for their speaker and phono connectors. This plug was originally used in a lead for a high end audio product of quite some vintage!
The plug is well made/machined with plenty of "locking screws" and once put together it is VERY secure but I have some comments about this below ...
MONSTER CABLE - 5 Pin Connector
Type: In-Line
5 Pin FEMALE
Locking
All machined body (knurled)
Thermoplastic "front end"
Figure 8 cable entry at the rear
Solder pin connections
DIMENSIONS & DESIGN INFORMATION:
Length: 33.75mm
Front section diameter: 11.80mm (no indent)
Rear metal body diameter: 15.35mm
This does not appear to be a "DIN Standard" connector.
The plug "front end" is circular WITHOUT an ident
The pins look to be arranged in a circle, 270 degrees
Locking/alignment to the corresponding plug is taken care of by a very small threaded screw on the metal body of the plug.
Cable clamp at the entry point is a figure 8 style and held in place by 2x extremely small hex grub screws
Front end section (to access the solder terminals inside) is held in place by 2x even smaller slot head screws - these are TINY!
Ok, tiny or small can be subjective (if you are a giant, everything looks small!) so to give an idea of what I mean, to unscrew the hex grub screws I used a 1.3mm hex key and for the even smaller slot head screw, the Jeweller's screwdriver blade is 0.8mm thick x 1.1mm wide
Both types of screws are ferrous and this makes life just a bit easier when holding/locating the screw in the threaded hole.
PERSONAL COMMENT: Although I like the design of the plug, you need to be extremely careful with the securing screws - they are some of the tiniest I have seen in a connector and heaven forbid if you misplace one!
COSMETIC CONDITION:
