Akai produced some reasonable entry level turntables towards the end of the last century, 1980's - 1990's, although Akai was most well known for their tape machines, particularly reel to reel.
This spare part relates to the AP-D2 although I believe this dust cover could suit other turntables, both Akai and other manufacturers
I am offering this dust cover lid as a spare part
THERE ARE NO HINGES SUPPLIED WITH THIS LID although I do have one solitary hinge on offer in a separate advertisement
I have the AP-D2 complete turntable advertised separately but unfortunately found I had only one hinge, so this dust cover lid and the hinge are being offered as separate items
Akai Vinyl Turntable SPARE PART
Class: Consumer
Model: AP-D2
Part: Dust Cover Lid
Colour: Clear
To help determine if this dust cover lid might suit your Non AP-D2 turntable, here are some dimension guidelines:
Perspex used is 3mm thickness
Measurements made are all outside edges, this means that for example the inside width of the lid is 435mm less 2x 3mm for each edge, giving 429mm inside
Width: 435mm
Depth: 319mm
Height: 51mm
Hinge type is a slot, each hinge is inset 35mm from the outer edge or approximately 320mm centre to centre
COSMETIC CONDITION:
Turntable dust covers are often the first thing to get marked, show age, get cracked or even have pieces broken off - although strong perspex, they are not very forgiving when treated poorly.
Overall I would consider this dust cover lid for the AP-D2 to be in good condition
There are NO cracks
There are NO broken pieces
The two small rubber side pieces (near the front edge) are both intact and sound
Especially important is the area around where the hinges fit - no problems here at all
Some LIGHT marks to the top
An overall LIGHT yellowish tinge - its not terrible but it is noticeable
I am happy to carefully and securely pack this dust cover lid for shipping, no problems at all however it should be noted that although this lid has a fairly low weight, the cubic weight means that it COULD be fairly expensive to ship this via Australia Post. I can also quote using couriers, which are often lower cost and faster than Post.
