Tandy Electronics was a USA based electronics distributor and retailer, often using the trade name REALISTIC. They did not manufacture their products but sourced (often from Asia) and rebranded products. Often if you look deeper into products branded as REALISTIC, you will find they came from very well known "main stream" manufacturers but with REALISTIC branded on the product. Considered "reasonable" quality usually, not like some of the rubbish from other rebranding companies e.g DSE

These metal R2R reels not only look great on a machine, they have a very practical use - because the two halves separate (3 screws) it is easy to spool unwanted tape onto one of these reels, undo the screws and lift out the "pancake" of tape and discard it. If you have ever tried to get unwanted tape off a spool, you will appreciate how much easier using one of these metal reels is.

Comes with the original heavy cardboard "spacer" to be used on some R2R tape machines which may require it (if the reel table on the machine doesn't quite "sit right" with a metal reel.

The metal reel is in very good condition, clean and NOT bent/warped and has been in the plastic bag inside the box, well protected.
The outer cardboard box is a bit "tired looking" but still perfectly useable, no seam failures or corners coming apart!
Since taking the photographs, I have now placed this metal reel tape spool (boxed) inside clear plastic and sealed it while waiting for a new owner.
