HISTORY:
Tape tape and more tape! In our previous audio post production days there was tape for miles, generally 1/4" through to 1" and sometimes 2" but I have found new homes for all of the tape (and the Studer & Tascam machines) EXCEPT this one reel of 1/2".
It is 1/2" Ampex 456 and previously used as a studio master tape (multi - track).
The thing that stands out about this item is not the tape but the reel size, it is 14" - it will not fit your 'run o' the mill' tape machines, I believe MCI's and some Ampex will be happy with these.
We used "normal 10.5" reels most of the time but had this "orphan" reel at some stage, probably with the old Ampex machine we "played around" with many years ago.
So if you were thinking of using this reel on your own tape machine, make sure it can accept this very large reel (10.5" is pretty much the standard not 14") OR just be imaginative and run-off the tape onto a correct size reel (don't forget there is HEAPS more tape on this reel)
I am not 100% that the boys bulk erased this master tape - they should have but .... so there could be material on it.

It MAY have audio material on it - if so (and you don't want the material, respect the artist's intellectual property rights!) - bulk erase the reel. The staff should have already bulk erased this one but there is no sticker indicating this, so it is POSSIBLE there is artist's recording remaining on the tape - those recordings (if they are there) remain the property of the artist.
Comes in the original box, which does have an indication of the artist but I have obscured the information in the photograph for privacy reasons

Clean and straight reel, properly stored
Tape looks to have been well packed when loaded onto the reel
