These adaptors are connected "in-line" with the normal AC power input to the original XBOX
In the event of a sudden current surge, the adapter goes into action and kills the power to the XBOX
This is its sole purpose in life, to protect the XBOX from excessive surges - it does not enhance game play etc
Sure, most likely there are not a lot of original XBOX's being used these days but great if you do have one and a very collectable accessory from the early days of Microsoft's venture into the gaming world.
As new but not in the original packaging, so I have tested it completely
TESTING:
Plugged it in, green light comes on - all good.
XBOX fires up, no problems
Hit the red TEST button, the XBOX dies and no power is supplied to the machine any longer
Hit the green RESET button, the XBOX comes alive again.
I am happy this unit operates exactly as it should.
