HISTORY:
Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything (that has been tested and still functioning properly) should be repurposed creating saving in wasted Ee and reducing the poisoning our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.
Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.
If you would like to know more about Ee values, please take a look HERE
This in-line female plug from my workshop 'servicing spare parts' area is a mystery to be honest! Perhaps someone will instantly recognise this one.
I seem to have had one 'on hand' jic, but I don't recall every using such a plug.
Full details (as best I can provide) are below ....
UNIDENTIFIED MANUFACTURER - 4 Pin Plug
I suspect this was of UK manufacture (a lot of my components came from UK sources)
Female in-line plug
Right angle entry
Square 'mating face'
4 'slots' for connections, one on each side of the square with one 'slot' being longer than the other three.
Internal screw down connections to each slot
Central bolt is used to lock the plug into a mating socket
Material: Black Nylon or thermoplastic
Markings on one side of the plug only ...
HZ 20
250V ~
18A
C164 Z VDE Reg. 2799
There is a company logo, something like a triangle with curved sides, I do not recognise this logo.
Cable gland (screw in) is fitted at the entry point
Maximum diameter cable that will fit this gland is 10.5mm
DIMENSIONS:
Socket face (square) 26.5mm x 26.5mm
Socket depth 29.5mm
Socket length (including the gland being fully inserted) 47.5mm
The connection slots all have a small 'cut out' in the centre on one edge and because one slot is longer than the other three, this is keyed.
My first thought was 3 phase power use but there is no mention on the plug of 440V or a suggestion of using it with 3 phase systems.
COSMETIC CONDITION:
NEW
Old Stock
CLEAN
NO damage to the body
NO damage to the electrical connections (or oxidisation!)
Now stored in a sealed clear plastic packet while this 'orphan' plug waits for a new home!
