HISTORY:
Our daughter was "getting into" the world of digital photography and as a simple starter camera, she (and her friends) chose an older model CANNON. Not yet ready for an SLR type but just to get the "feel" for digital photography away from a smartphone.
The drawback with these older cameras is that they do not inherently communicate with the outside world, no USB or other data transfer port at all, so the removeable SD card needs to be inserted into a SD reader with a suitable output for either her iPhone or a laptop. This adapter is for the iPhone, actually she used it with the iPhone X
Just insert the SD card from the camera, plug the short lead into the iPhone and go to Files and there she saw the SD straight away, no messing around downloading other software.
I bought a number of these for her friends who were in the same situation and now I have ended up with a couple of "left overs" - these are NEW, in unopened sealed packets.

Suits use with the older "point & shoot" cameras which have no means of communicating with the outside world e.g USB. WiFi or Bluetooth such as on the more contemporary cameras (you pay a lot more for those cameras though)
