Found in one of the boxes of my 20th Century "miscellaneous stuff", this metal diecast model is from the famous W.BRITAIN model manufacturer in England. Dated underneath as 1990 although I cannot be sure that is the year when I obtained this model or just when the design was first created. The company is still going strong, take a look at their website HERE
W. BRITAIN (ENGLAND) - Model Soldier
Made in England
Material: diecast metal (metals used are not specified)
Model: Life Guard Trooper (41066)
DIMENSIONS:
Stands on a 26.75mm x 17.9mm metal base
Figurine is 60mm height x 20.75mm wide
COSMETIC CONDITION:
This model is in need of a painted "touchup"! Please view the photographs
Here is an example of what this model should look like when "touched up"
CLEAN
NO physical damage to the model or base stand
The paint touch up is required due to front rubbing wear to his tunic, a couple of "spots" on both arms and the gloves and around the head area (top and the hat) Pretty much most of this touch up work is required to the front, the rear has less paint wear or flaking. I am not a modeller so perhaps it may be easier (to match the colours) by simply stripping all existing paint and starting again afresh.
Now packed into a sealed, heavy clear plastic package to protect the model from further damage and he now patiently waits while someone undertakes the task of bringing him back to his former glory!
