Finally I have found more of the very nice Switchcraft connectors, these jacks being quite special (and expensive!)
SWITCHCRAFT - Jack Socket With Switching
Country of origin is not indicated but I am pretty sure these were USA made
These were in a packet but the Switchcraft ID number coding is missing ... looking up the Switchcraft catalogue, these look to be very similar to the N112BX series
Rear of the jack has SC within a diamond and the solder tag numbering stamped into the plastic.
6.35mm TRS socket
Panel mounting
Supplied with large Chrome washer and nut
Solder tag terminations at the rear
Integral switching, 2x SPDT
Let's look at the electrical side of things ...
The sleeve (plug barrel) is totally isolated from signal ground, or the panel metalwork, due to the plastic insulation built into the jack. The jack insert is of course Chrome metal but this is surrounded completely in plastic. Signal ground or the sleeve is available at the rear on one of the solder tags.
Tip and Ring are also taken out to the rear, available on solder tags
The switching is true single pole, double throw and in no way connected with the TRS signal path. Of course each SPDT switch is electrically separate from the other. All switch contacts are available at the rear on 6x solder tags.
Nice jack and due to the way it is configured it can suit many different signalling needs.
DIMENSIONS:
Body 16.8mm x 16.8mm x 21mm depth
Front thread is 7.5mm length
COSMETIC CONDITION:
NEW Old Stock
Clean
NO oxidisation or other issues that could interfere with the contact reliability
All solder tags are shiny and ready to see a spot of solder, no problems ...
I have now placed each jack into individual sealed clear plastic packs to maintain the current condition.
NOTE: Although the photograph may show multiple jacks, this advertisement is for ONE only but if quantities are purchased, automatic discounts do get applied.
