Charles Parker Jr. died at the young age of just 34 years old, back in 1955

Charles is legendary in jazz circles and this album contains some of his finest music

Everest went to great pains in their efforts to bring this old music back to as good a sonic condition as possible, the tracks being recorded from original old 78's and painstakingly had noise reduction critically applied. Interesting that it is stated that the Dolby System was used, usually this is reserved for tapes. Everest doesn't explain the connection between Dolby and these recordings, Dolby being a noise reduction system that needs audio alteration when being played back on equipment such as cassette tape machines ... how this would work for vinyl turntables I have no idea!

Heavy cardboard cover is in very good condition, meaning that there are no seam splits, no personal writing and clean with only light edgewear from normal handling, this album cover has been looked after over the last 50+ years.

New plastic inner sleeve (originally paper but of course I got rid of that, just hate paper inner sleeves!)

Vinyl is in good condition, visually inspected under a bright white halogen light source and no significant scratches and the vinyl appears to be very clean. Just looking at the vinyl is not a very good way to judge the condition so I then played the ENTIRE album, every single track on both sides, and there are NO significant issues with surface noise nor clicks/pops. I say significant because I did hear some slight increase in surface noise at the beginning on each side, a couple of cleans later and this is much improved but still I can hear some low level surface noise at the run-in areas on each side - after this all of the remaining playtime is nice and quiet. I can hear why Charlie was considered such a "ground breaker" in jazz, his music is exciting and innovative - really interesting listen.

New outer protective sleeve
