HISTORY:

My "world" is 'the arts' and more specifically, music, artwork and hand crafted/decorated chinaware's.

I am not a film enthusiast but an associate has asked me to find new owners for THEIR large collection of photographic and film items ... this is one of those items.

While the world of 8mm/Super 8mm is not my area of expertise, I am doing my best to establish the condition of each item that I am listing.

I tend to be quite detailed in my item descriptions, please READ all the details to decide if this item may interest you.

Now, on with the description ...

I am offering two 400 feet reels from Universal 8 Films, documenting (with actors such as George C. Scott, Charles Durning and Roy Thurnes amongst others) the theory that the destruction of the famous zeppelin (the Hindenburg) was caused by sabotage. As these two films are intended as a set and the product codes are the same, I am supplying BOTH reels in this advertisement (not separated)

Each part/reel has it's own packaging, this is not two reels in the one case or canister.

UNIVERSAL 8 FILMS - Super 8 Film

Commercial release for the Home Movie market

THE HINDENBURG (1975)

Part 1 7007 PT.1

Part 2 7007 PT.2

Each part comes in the original USA printed/released cardboard slip cover, two separate packages.

Film reel case is special to Universal and this is stamped into the White plastic - note the different reel support inside which holds the reel more securely.

Motion picture released 1975

Leader film fitted to both reels

7" 400' Blue PLiO MAGIC (USA) plastic reels

Colour

Sound

It appears this was released in multi-lingual versions, this is the ENGLISH version

COSMETIC CONDITION:

USED

CLEAN

Film stock and the reel in each part is undamaged

Bright White Universal hinged case not discoloured and is undamaged in any way - hinge is sound too!

NO damage to the case i.e no cracks or broken pieces

Slight, low level "vinegar smell" from the film, which I am informed is normal for aged film although not desirable.

Cardboard outer sleeve has just light handling/storage wear, primarily corner flaps that have been slightly crumpled but overall, in very good condition.

NO personal names or other writing on the case or the film reels

To maintain the current condition, and now that testing is complete, both reels are within one packet and have been sealed.

TESTING:

Tested with the ELMO ST 1200 I have available, and away we go ....

I have around 4 minutes off each reel for testing

Leader film is fine and undamaged for both reels

Part 1:

The colour has definitely shifted to the Red end of town, barely any other colours visible. Still clear and sharp just pinky/Red!

Sound is good, clean and crisp

Part 2:

The colour has definitely shifted to the Red end of town but it seemed less so than part 1, but still barely any other colours visible. Still clear and sharp though just pinky/Red!

Sound is also fine on this part, clean and crisp

I am very fastidious and careful with these Super 8 films and I have now packed the film package (2x reels in their containers/packaging) within one sealed, clear plastic packet while it awaits a new owner
