HISTORY:

Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything that can be reused or repurposed creates Ee savings and reduces the poisoning our our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.

Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.

If you would like to know more about Ee values, please take a look HERE

This is what the V101 looked like

If you have taken on the task of restoring an older JVC CD player, you will know how difficult these VFD's are to find. Over time the VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent Display) can "fade" to the point where they are bearly readable, this replacement VFD is in great shape and could be just the thing you have been looking for... but wait there's to this module than just the display!

All the control switches (not the buttons as they are part of the front panel assembly) are also on this board.

I recently have had the JVC XL-V101 on the "operating table" but she could not be saved! Not the end of the world but it is always nice to bring an oldie back to life!

I have now removed selected working parts for others to reuse in their own V101's - this advertisement is for the complete display//control switch PCB assembly.

It is not difficult to get access to this board and requires the removal of just a couple of screws and then carefully "unclick" the board from the little plastic side locks. The hardest part is the two ribbon cables, these are soldered to the main board, no socket, so you will need to undertake some relatively easy de-soldering or soldering to instal this module in another machine.

If this spare part for the JVC Compact Disc Player, model XL-V101 doesn't interest you then perhaps take a look HERE to see what other spare parts I have for this model

The interconnection to the main board is via the two Black ribbon cables (semi-flexible) which have 10 conductors each.

NO cable has been shortened and the bare "through hole" wires are exactly as original in length.

NO wires have been broken or "shortened"

I have packed this PCB, paying special attention to the glass VFD, and the complete module is now sitting on stiff cardboard and completely sealed in clear plastic.
