HISTORY:
Another oldie but a goodie, the domestic market twin cassette recorder KXF-W4010 from Kenwood. I had actually been using this as one of my cassette test machines but then I noticed one deck was having drive belt issues plus the high frequency response was dropping off on that deck, the head needed replacing. I decided it was not worth the effort (for me) to service the machine so it has now been on the 'operating table', this is one of those parts extracted ...
This model was released to the market in the period 1998~99 and it looked something like this (case colours varied)
Don't have the KXF-W4010?
Fret not ... boards such as this can be great 'component farms' for those "impossible to find" parts that you just can't buy any more ... many of the old Japanese semiconductors fall into the category.
Service manuals for this machine are readily available online and from that you can see which devices are on this board.
KENWOOD - Twin Cassette Deck MAIN BOARD ONLY

Model: KXF-W4010
Main board only
Part number(s): J70-0809-31, X28-2780-10
This board controls all functions of the transport, audio signal processing and provides data to the front panel display board.

DIMENSIONS:
238mm x 220mm
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
Removed from the fully functioning machine, no issues with the machine at all, which means all transport functions working, all displayed operations correctly shown on the front display and audio switching and quality was as expected. As mentioned above, this was one of my "cassette testing" machines when I was checking for tension and general transport issues plus general playing of the tapes but due to the worn head(s) and the need for a belt on Deck B it was decided that this machine needed to "visit the operating table" (workshop for parting out).
CLEAN
NO damage to any of the connectors used for interconnections to other sections of the cassette player.
NOTE: The small push and lock connectors are tricky, push down the wires and then the top section of the connector until it locks in place. During removal of one top section, one side of the locking plastic broke off - still perfectly useable but not like it used to be! This top section is provided along with all the other mounting hardware. All other connectors and their top sections are fine.
NO physical damage to any component nor the PCB
Supplied within an ESD bag and fully protected against damage while being shipped.
