HISTORY:
Another oldie but a goodie, the domestic market twin cassette recorder KXF-W4010 from Kenwood. I had actually been using this as one of my cassette test machines but then I noticed one deck was having drive belt issues plus the high frequency response was dropping off on that deck, the head needed replacing. I decided it was not worth the effort (for me) to service the machine so it has now been on the 'operating table', this is one of those parts extracted ...
This model was released to the market in the period 1998~99 and it looked something like this (case colours varied)
Don't have the KXF-W4010?
It is possible that this AC transformer (or even just the power ON-OFF switch) could suit use with other machines ... that is for the buyer to work out.
Service manuals for this machine are readily available online
KENWOOD - Twin Cassette Deck AC TRANSFORMER WITH POWER ON-OFF SWITCH
Circa late 1990's
Model: KXF-W4010
AC Transformer with power switch only
Transformer identification codes: L07-1852-05 8G159
AC input 240V ONLY (not multi-voltage input although I was hopeful as there is a PCB track which looked to be a centre tap to the transformer but then I discovered there is no winding to that track - dead end on that one)
Multiple low voltage outputs
Original wiring to the player mainboard has been kept intact, as is the two wires to the power ON-OFF switch.
Switch is a SPST push ON push OFF type SDL1P 1Z12 rated at 2A 250V AC
The transformer has a special purpose metal mounting bracket (original screws provided) and a PCB for the interwiring and the one solitary passive component, the EMI suppression capacitor.
TRANSFORMER DIMENSIONS:
90mm x 75mm x 65mm height
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
Removed from the fully functioning machine, no issues with the machine at all, which means this transformer was doing it's job fine and the power ON-OFF switch is also working fine and the switch locking is working.
CLEAN
NO damage to any of the interconnect wiring
NO damage to the PCB
NO damage to the panel switch
NOTE: The switch top (knob) is NOT supplied with these components as I have grouped all the front panel knobs together in a separate advertisement
