HISTORY:

My "world" is 'the arts' and more specifically, music, artwork and hand crafted/decorated chinaware's.

I am not a film enthusiast but an associate has asked me to find new owners for THEIR large collection of photographic and film items ... this is one of those items.

While the world of 8mm/Super 8mm is not my area of expertise, I am doing my best to establish the condition of each item that I am listing.

I tend to be quite detailed in my item descriptions, please READ all the details to decide if this item may interest you.

Now, on with the description ...

COSMETIC CONDITION:

USED

CLEAN

Very good

Film stock and the dark Grey reel (PLiO MAGIC made in USA) are physically undamaged, there is a Green (Protect A Print) very short leader film. The leader is short because I had to cut away quite a bit of the original leader, it was damaged (splitting & crumpled) causing great issues feeding the film into the projector - it now feeds well.

Outer all plastic hinged case is actually stamped IE International (Italy) and the graphics "card" cover looks to have been cut from the original cardboard box and this plastic case was used to store the film. Light scuff marks to the case but no cracks or broken sections.

NO identification writing on the reel. There is just the single sheet coloured graphics and a side dynatape label identifying the contents.

TESTING:

Test projector is the ELMO 1200 that I have on hand at the moment.

Film looks to be clean and in good condition, sprocket holes are not damaged which is more than I can say for the original Green leader, it was bit of a mess so I cut away the damaged leader, leaving only a very short piece remaining.

I only ran the film for the first five minutes or so to observe the picture and sound.

The picture is actually pretty good and with only a very slight Pinkish tinge, particularly during the titles and the contrast is fine, very watchable

The sound is clean, not noisy but (in my opinion) very slightly "muddy" i.e lacking the highs. I could still follow the dialogue fine, it just wasn't as crisp and sharp I would expect

In my opinion, after this quite brief test, I am happy that the film is as stated on the box and that the film stock appears to be in pretty good "technical" shape

I am very fastidious and careful with these films, (I am after-all doing this on behalf of another person) and I have now packed the reel back into the case and then sealed the whole package in clear plastic to maintain the current condition.
