To know where you are going in music, you need to know the path upon which you have been ...

Paul Whiteman was considered a musical innovator, at the very beginning of modern jazz although he experimented with many other musical genres.

Another classic example of the innovative Paul Whiteman, most tunes are instrumentals with a couple featuring lead vocals or backing singers.

Many pooh pooh music that was very popular 100 years ago but if you would like to expand your musical experiences, take the plunge and have a listen and learn about the original formation of contemporary styles. This album is actually a very pleasant listen for those who have "musically educated" ears .... take a step back (way back) in time.

Not many people realise or remember that this music was not just played in the house on the 78 gramophone player but if you were fortunate enough to have money and went to the "pictures" often there was an orchestra pit in the theatre, in front of and below the front screen. Yes, no sound track with the film, just text on the screen and accompanied by live music from the orchestra! I was just a tad bit young (actually not even born!) in those days but I did attend a "Silent movie night" revival featuring Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin in the 1970's where they recreated the atmosphere of those days. A far cry from watching a streamed movie at home!

Heavy cardboard cover is in very good condition, no tears, no seam splits and no writing on the cover at all. Inside the cover is the ORIGINAL printed paper inner sleeve (for historical reasons)

New inner plastic sleeve - this is inserted inside the original paper sleeve

Vinyl is in very good condition, visually inspected under a bright white halogen light source and I can see NO scratches or marks on either side. I then played the ENTIRE album, every single track, and there are no issues with surface noise or click/pop events at all - a very nice clean playback of some golden oldie standards from the Jazz Age.

TRACKS: Whispering, The Japanese Sandman, Anytime Anyday Anywhere, My Man, Song Of India, Hot Lips (He's Got Hot Lips When He Plays Jazz), Three O'Clock In The Morning, I'll Build A Stairway To Paradise, Rhapsody In Blue, When Day Is Done, What'll I Do, Love Nest, Medley From "Anything Goes"

USED Exactly as described
