This large table dish is "all Australian" with the ceramic work undertaken by hand in Australia (not an Asian sourced blank) and hand decorated.
First Nation people themed but no attempt has been made to "copy" Aboriginal patterns or designs
DLAT Rating: 9/10 (Darling, Look At This!)
This is a dish that screams at you "look a me, look a me!"
LUSH CREATIONS - CERAMIC TABLE BOWL
Totally created in Australia
I do not know who was "behind" the company or what has since happened to Lush Creations, their website is now non-functional and no information of relevance found in the ASIC records.
Circa 1990's
The design is very much in the theme of Australia and the First Nation peoples. Simple "stick figure" graphics of a single person, non-gender specific, with a very powerful Earth ~ Sky background topside and a deep sea Blue water colour on the underside. Finished with an edge rim line in Black.
375mm diameter x 70mm height
WEIGHT: 2.2Kg (carry with two hands! this is no featherweight)
High sheen glaze to both the topside and underneath.
Backstamp to the underside (printed under the glaze in Black) featuring the Lush Creations logo (painting pallete)
The bowl is very symmetrical and beautifully crafted and decorated.
Underneath, the clean white clay used can be seen. Not as bright white as a porcelain paste but very white nonetheless.
COSMETIC CONDITION:
Wow! Absolutely excellent condition!
Vibrant "alive" colouring!
NO cracks
NO discolouration
NO crazing
On the underside "foot" I can see one small "dot" where the Blue colouring has disappeared, something like a fleabite or small circular chip mark. Not significant unless you are really into looking underneath your fabulous ceramic pieces and your guests will certainly never see it!
