BENDIGO POTTERY
Remains Australia's longest working pottery, beginning operations back in 1858
DLAT Rating: 9/10 (Darling, Look At This!)
This rating is not based on the potters skill or the object but the colouring was very much to our "taste", colours of the Earth (Brown's ~ Greens's) with a "drip glaze" like finish.
This piece from the pottery is identified (backstamp) as having been created by RW - now here is a dilemma because during the period that we bought this bud vase, there were two employees with the initials R.W. and they were Richard Walsh & Richard Ward but we do not know whom of the two worked on this vase. We bought this is the late 1990's, at which time both were working at Bendigo Potteries.
