Oh Dear! This item has been sold but take a look around for other similar items

I am very big on sustainability, re-using or re-purposing equipment and accessories (no matter how old it is) because a LOT of EE (Embedded Energy) was used to originally create these items from our past and to throw something like this away, poison our surroundings etc is just so irresponsible of the human race - one day, all this waste will come back to "bite us".

HISTORY:

My "world" is 'the arts' and more specifically, music, artwork and hand crafted/decorated chinaware's.

I am not a film enthusiast but an associate has asked me to find new owners for THEIR large collection of photographic and film items ... this is one of those items.

While the world of 8mm/Super 8mm is not my area of expertise, I am doing my best to establish the condition of each item that I am listing.

I tend to be quite detailed in my item descriptions, please READ all the details to decide if this item may interest you.

Now, on with the description ...

ELMO - 8mm/Super 8 Film Reel

EMPTY

Diameter: 10.5 Inch

Colour: Light Grey

Stamped into the plastic material

      E L M O

NAGOYA  JAPAN

COSMETIC CONDITION:

USED (frequently by the look of it)

CLEAN (in fact it has been sterilised with a fine mist of Iso Alcohol)

Barely any marks although there are some "scuff" marks

NO personal writing or content labelling anywhere on the reel

THE ISSUE!

Yes, this reel had an issue (this is why it is only $5, to barely cover the time it took me to write up this advertisement)

On each side of the reel, there was a crack (at the same point on each side of the reel) and I am guessing the owner of the reel sorted out the issue with glue ... I can see that glue (type unknown) has been applied on the outside of the crack.

It now seems sturdy and although I did not want to push it too much, I could not make the plastic separate around the crack area. No burrs in the area that might have fouled up a film.

Looking at the reel, it appears (to my eyes) straight and true - not bent or misformed.

I have now placed this ELMO film reel sealed clear plastic to preserve the current condition for a new owner. While not boxed, I will send it well protected.

USED Exactly as described
