DUCHESS - Side Plate ONLY

England

Circa period 1970's ~ 1980's ("Modern" China)

Fine brilliant White Bone China base

Translucent, meaning if held to the light you can see your fingers through the china

Design: Susie (Pattern 406) with simple, uninspiring artwork featuring two separate flower groupings, one being much larger than the other. Flowers featured are Yellow daisies along with smaller Purple flowers and foliage. Why is it named Susie? NI (No Idea) You may notice that this pattern is VERY similar to another I have from DUCHESS, but look more closely and there are differences ...

Decoration is definitely transferware

Gold gilding around the outer scalloped rim only

Dimensions: 165mm diameter

BACKSTAMP DETAILS:

There are no Artist nor Gold gilder's marks

COSMETIC CONDITION:

CLEAN

NO cracks

NO discolouration or wear to the decorative work

NO crazing observed (wet & dry checked)

Gold gilding is in good condition with no signs of handling or washing wear.

On the underside I do see/feel two very small fleabites, very difficult to see normally unless you hunt for them.

Additionally I discovered two little "bumps" where the ceramic is RAISED from the surface, not a fleabite but some sort of factory introduced flaw

USED Exactly as described
